Authors Note: This is a drabble and a half; that is to say, it is exactly 150 words. This is one idea of how Kailen kills Mikayl but in the end might not be how it happens. As I've mentioned before, I'm still exploring the story lines and characters. The reason I've signed up for the comms I have is so I can develop my characters and their relationships, but this on the other hand, was completely random. Unlike almost everything else I've got posted here, it stands alone. Enjoy.

It’s silent in the empty alleyway, and despite the heavily falling, rain it’s hot. The water glitters in the dim streetlight.

Kailen stares at his boss with wide eyes. There are only a few meters of space between them, but at this moment, it seems like so much more.

“Do it.” The command is gruff, not as loud or sharp as usual, but it’s still a command. No room for argument.

Kailen looks at the gun in his hand. Then back to Mikayl. After a moment, he nods and raises the pistol.

With shaky hands, he pulls the trigger. There is no telltale bang, the silencer makes sure of that.

And at the other end of the alley, Mikayl smiles as he collapses to the ground.

“Thank you, Dancer…I mean, Kai… len…”

Blood pools on the sidewalk as Kailen slowly walks away.

The falling rain glitters in the dim streetlight.
