Summary: Sorcha takes her revenge on Sei, and tries to break the prophecy at the same time.
“You were mine.”
Far below there are screams and shouts and the swift swish of firing arrows.
“You betrayed me.”
Far below there is blood bursting to the surface and poison being swept into veins.
“I warned you.”
Far below there are the slain and the injured and the retreating and those still standing.
“But you went ahead and did it anyway.”
Far below the screaming has stopped only to replaced by murmurs and gasping and sharp orders.
“So now I pay you your dues.”
Far below there are wise words and approaching tears and mumbled acceptance around a grim smile.
“Let’s see if I can interfere with a prophecy.”
High above the blood stained forest floor the vengeful goddess watches with an expression made of ice, for just a moment, and then she’s gone.
